Greyhound toNC?

I had been thinking about taking the bus to NC instead of driving. With the folding bike, it would be an easy ride between the bus station and Mom's house. And the DC bus station is essentially at my office, so I could leave after work Friday, ride overnight, have all day Saturday and Sunday at the house, return in the wee hours Monday morning, and be at work for the afternoon. I could sleep on the bus most of both trips. There must be some time stuck in a station someplace though, since the schedules show 8.5-9.5 hour travel times (one at 12.5!), and I typically drive it in 5.5 or less. The extra time doesn't matter much if I'm sleeping, but changing buses and sitting around (needing to watch my baggage) is not convenient. And $128 is a lot more than I expected it to be. About twice the cost to NYC, and it's not that much farther. I guess there's just not as much competition on the route (no Megabus).
I've been outside much of the day, in the hammock chair after I mowed the lawn. I've brought out a fan too, not because I'm too warm but testing the theory that a breeze will thwart the mosquitoes. I think it's working. I don't like the noise of the fan much, but there's traffic noise too so it wouldn't be quiet yet.

Berkeley's polypore (Bondarzewia berkeleyi) - new fungus spotted in our yard today, on the stump of the Oak we cut down (for safety).

I've registered for Pennsic. Early registration is important for allocating camping space.
The registration process now requires some security questions, presumably for automating password resets. Sites that do this really need to let us set our own questions as well as the answers, because these are not good questions. For some of these questions I have no answer, or multiple answers, or my answer now might not be the answer when I need to authenticate a password reset:
