I haven't given blood in ages. I used to, then my veins started collapsing and they couldn't get it out of me. Then we were trying to get pregnant and I didn't know if blood donation had any effect on that, then I just ... didn't ... for awhile, assuming I still had a problem, then last year (when blood tests seemed to go more easily), I travelled to Guatemala, which put me on the Don't Even Think About Donating Until Next Year list, and in my most recent blood test - my veins went all wonky again. :-P I don't think collitis meds would prevent my donating blood, but my body has to be willing to let go of the stuff, first.

Sorry, I just gave at the office... ;)

The good news is, my liver enzymes, glucose levels, and cholestrol are all normal, and I'm for sure immune to rubella. The bad news is, my blood pressure is up slightly...to 120/80. :D

Anyway, they took four effin vials and that's more blood than I'm willing to give up in half a lifetime to medical purposes, let alone voluntarily. Enjoy the t-shirt and cookies! :)
