much to do

Just before I left for work, a couple of guys came and cut the juniper/fir/hedge-like trees in the back corner of our neighbor's yard, next to our shed. It really opens our view into their back yard. Their fences got a lot of damage on the other 2 sides of their yard, and now I can see where a lot of big branches broke off a large tree in the next yard - probably accounting for most of that fence damage, and I guess their roof as well. One of their cars is often parked on that side of their house. I wonder whether it got hit?

I thought the guys were from one of the utilities, because there are still a lot of connections and hardware hanging off the utility pole in a manner that looks ... temporary. I thought they were just trimming some branches for easier access, but when I looked again the little hedge-trees (and the guys, and their truck) were all gone. They weren't the best-looking plants, kind of scraggly and gangly, but they did make an effective screen. (And the birds liked them.)
I biked to work today. It was hot, but not quite as bad as last week. It should be nice going home this evening.

I've got a lot to do to get ready for Pennsic. I haven't had time to try setting up the new tent yet. (It would be nice to find any problems while there's still time to correct them....) I need to download and print out the music. I need to charge the monster battery. (It sat for a year before our last Pennsic, and I don't think it had a full charge when we left home. This time it's had 2 years to sit. (Of course, we should keep it charged up anyway, to be useful for power outages. It could run a lot of lights, and keep laptops and cellphones charged.)) And I need to take last year's packing list and update it. It will need some changes because I'm going by myself this year. I've got just one weekend left for prep. Laundry. Instruments. Unfinished crafts projects from previous Pennsics. Packing. Reviewing the class schedule from the website.
