finally, on the road

Back at camp with:
  1. the van, with the security system overridden (probably) - it stopped working again while they were closing it up;
  2. a couple of salads from the nice Giant Eagle supermarket;
  3. a 6-pack of Yuengling Lager (none for the driver); and
  4. 2 bags of ice. (Pilot's 2/$3 pricing system discourages buying odd numbers of bags. Their loss, because I would have bought 3.)

Somerset rest area - we usually stop here, and we usually get here in daylight, and enjoy seeing the wind turbines. Tonight it's dusk, and we're getting something of a nice sunset behind us. After a week+ in the woods you want to wash your hands every chance you get. We've grabbed some snacks out of the back. We left our campsite at 18:38, but also stopped to use the flushies there too. We had the good fortune of no rain this afternoon, but some of the tarps and the bottom of the tent were still wet. We'll have to dry things out at home.

The jury-rigged fuel-pump override of the SECURITY system may leave a constant drain on the battery, which isn't acceptable for a vehicle that isn't driven daily. I think I'll need to cut that wire to keep the battery from running down.
