I got to bed somewhat early last night, and woke up early this morning. I reviewed the course schedule for today and tomorrow. We found a bodhran years ago at a yard sale. The last couple of years I've seen intro classes listed at Pennsic and found myself saying "Darn, I wish I'd brought the bodhran!" But it always seemed like one more stray nuisance at the last minute. But this year I remembered they've been having classes, so I should bring it. I couldn't find the doumbek class, so that extended my lunch break. I dropped in on the end of the mead class, since it overlapped with the geomancy class.
Tomorrow's KWC rehearsal is at 11:00 instead of 15:00 (There's 4 hours of middle-eastern music and dance using the stage.), so that frees up an afternoon for classes in a time block I've always had to skip. (Of course, it takes away morning-class hours, but those are more likely to be things I've had shots at before.) Not getting to bed so early tonight.
I finally got the solar panel out at lunch time because
dglenn needed to recharge the MacBook. I hooked up the solar panel, charge conditioner, deep-cycle 12V battery, and 12V-120V inverter, and plugged in the charger and MacBook. After a bit the inverter's low-voltage (12V battery-protect) alarm went off. My big battery seems to be on the feeble side - once again it didn't get enough charging before we left home. (I started charging it last Tuesday, but that got interrupted when we couldn't start the van Wednesday morning when we needed to move things around so I could drive to work, and Wednesday night I put the charger on the van battery. After the van started Thursday morning I didn't get the connections right and the camp battery lost a 2nd day of charging.) Or maybe the battery is getting feeble from not being in regular use, DGlenn suggests. I'm hoping I won't need to recharge anything - iBook, camera (will probably start on the 2nd battery of 3 tomorrow) AAs/AAAs for Zoom H2, flashlights, etc (we have a lot of AAs; not so many AAAs - which many of the small flashlights use).
I recorded the Debatable Choir tonight with my Zoom H2. It seems to have worked fine - pretty much the point-and-shoot equivalent for audio: put it on a stand and adjust the levels. The choir were glad I recorded, since someone was supposed to video-tape the concert and seems not to have worked out. (The same person is slated to record the KWC concert Thursday night, so my gear will probably be useful again.) Erin was at the concert too.
Our land agent does like to cook, when she has the time. Tonight's dinner was cheeseburgers, spanakopita, and corn on the cob, plus chocolate-chip cookies later.
