60°F/15.6°C in the tent. Slept without earplugs.
Music has been a great absence this year. There is bardic singing, but nothing choral or ensemble instrumental. There were classes for guitar and drumming. There are many Pennsic University tents, but not the 3 or 4 recent expansion tents, and no rehearsal tent. No recorder ensemble. No evening balls with pick-up bands. Few evening concerts. (And Caer Edgemere's varying dinner times mess with getting to those.) Few buskers; no busking kids. (I haven't seen or heard the ice-selling kids since that first morning. Maybe they're out after I leave camp for classes? Or maybe there aren't enough buyers for it to be worthwhile?)

Painting Your Canvas Tent00:002When I set out to paint my period marquee lots of questions and difficulties popped up. To date I have painted three of them and thought that folks thinking of painting their tents might like to sit down and go through the technicals of trying to get a straight line of paint on a giant amoeba of non-stretched canvas! So here is a class - come talk tent!Amy OstranderSociety for Creative Anachronism1 hour

We had 5 students for the lampwork class, and 4 torches. And we didn't have to stop at 2 hours; nothing was scheduled next in the space, and the instructor wasn't in a hurry. So we all got lots of time, and people could make several beads. Since they have to cool slowly, we didn't get to see them until the next day.

The Mountain Confederation camp across the street had massive taco fixin's - a traditional camp dinner, but with less attendance than expected. I had a massive taco. We'll have our own planned dinner tomorrow for lunch. [Saturnsday dinner?]
That will displace my chicken-spread and cheese sandwich. By the way, all the brown bread was gone here before the white bread was opened. Whole wheat was my request.
Anna has gone back to Wheeling to fire our Majolica. She should be back tomorrow. Also waiting to see today's beads. More lampwork tomorrow, and Inkle weaving.
I should take the camera and tripod out tonight.

I took a walk around the lake and took some photos. One person thanked me for having a red flashlight and not blinding people. I'm appalled to discover that I can see the McDonald's/Pilot Gas sign from Brewer's Road. (There's a lot of things you can see with fewer people and fewer tents here....)
The Mountain Confederation is running an open bar across the road. I will need earplugs. ☹
I am still getting phone calls and texts for my new work cell phone number's previous owner.
