Pennsic War plans to announce Go/NoGo by May 15. (This was apparently posted about a week ago, but I don't check their website daily.)
There are so many factors to consider, including
- the course of the pandemic (national, regional, local),
- state/local decisions/guidelines,
- domestic/international travel restrictions,
- the availability/staffing of local suppliers (EMS, tents, golf carts; porta-potties, camp store),
- whether the people who live there want 8,000-10,000 visitors,
If there's no Pennsic this year I'd be able to go to
baitcon.
Or the situation in August (or June(?), when people need to decide/deposit) may be such that no one is thinking of going anywhere.

Pennsic 49 has been postponed from July 24 - August 9, 2020 to July 30 - August 15, 2021.
(One of the choir directors sent out an email.)
None of us can say this was a surprise.
Too soon, of course, to know about Baitcon. But it's hard to see how that (i.e. bringing people together from a wide area, like Boston, NYC, DC, etc; mix well; send back home) could be a good idea either, even if things are more relaxed by then (2nd weekend of August).
