transmogrify me: whatever gets you through the night....

I have mixed reviews on the newly-acquired Xingtone ringtone maker. On the good side, submitting audio from the computer to my cell phone via the Internet is nice and painless. It was easier and quicker than I had anticipated. However, the built-in audio editor is atrocious! The waveform editing screen is very small, and the selection tool does not always pick up the selected waveforms. It is so slow and non-responsive. The editing features are too basic and ineffective (especially the zoom in/out tools), and although I do not expect a $20 software to have the full functionalities of, let's say, Pro Tools, the clunkiness is very atrocious and almost unusable. I strugged to make two usable ringtones from CDs late last night of dubious quality.

What I'll probably wind up doing is making the 30-second ringtone audio chunks in Pro Tools (since it has better fade and zoom features, as well as sound quality) and then using the Xingtone software to convert and upload the finished ringtones. My current ringtone is Empty Room's "Explore" (I also made a ringtone of The Prids' "All Apart And No Fall"). I'll probably create some more ringtones from my CDs, including Duran Duran and others.

Work has been keeping me busy. I have been writing official communiques, arranging daily schedules, and doing other Official Duties of Responsibility. And I still can get away with donning an aubergene-coloured hair (which will be Back In Black soon). Alas, I am pretty tired by the time I arrive home after work, and I have been doing nothing of significance in my spare time (unless one counts playing SimCity 4 Rush Hour as being significant). I feel that I am letting the dark season affect my mood.
