This mix is not about the fragility of love, or of opening your heart to someone else until the scar closes over in reflex. That plays a big part, but it will not be song after song about how wonderful or how tragic love can be. It is partly about healing, and it is partly about falling and knowing and being. It is about the before and the after, and the in-between. It is both about the journey and the start and finish.
I have stories about each of these songs. They weave in and out of my life story; some of them I found a week or two ago, and some of them I know every word by heart. They are a theme in themselves, all the parts of a story that I cannot pick certain lyrics out for. This is how I lived this summer and how I've lived since then.
None of these songs are "filler," as you've probably figured out. I picked up a lot of these songs from mixes my friends made, so you might recognise a lot of them. I turn to music as a coping mechanism sometimes, so thank you to those who gave me these songs or told me they liked them, because they've packaged themselves into a mix I can't stop listening to nowadays.
