Oh my! A productive day!

I had a nicely productive day today, which is a rarity so it deserves a special mention.

I spent a day at work debugging the first stage of my analysis pipeline and unexpectedly it all just dropped out working at the end. A happy result and it leaves me to move on to stage 2 tomorrow. There are 7 stages in the pipeline, stages 4 and 6 will not be written yet and so that just leaves four stages to go until the pipeline is finished for single processor usage. Perhaps the best part of the result is that it was achieved sustainably, although there are slight pains in my body from posture that must be addressed if I'm to last months and my eyes burn after a few hours. Still, it's a much better result physically and mentally than before.

Other productive things I have done (not today, but since the weekend) included getting wireless working on the Linux partition on my desktop, getting kde/konqueror's colour scheme to match my gnome one (because while I love gnome dearly, nautilus doesn't cut it for serious work...) and making my laptop work on the University's wireless network under Linux. I had hoped that I could grab my laptop and nest in the empty corridor behind our office and work from there, but I don't think my network card can send packets back (because it appears to have ok low signal strength but it just acts like it loses connectivity). I've also managed to rip the .HACK//Sign soundtrack CDs. In the house, I've cleared lots of space in my room (still a lot more to go, but at least all the mess is in two piles now!) and nearly all the kitchen stuff has been put away.
