It had been the first time Naoto traveled up side. And of course, it had be to raining. It couldn’t have been sunny or at least a cloudless sky. No, rain poured down, soaking the woman. She let out a sigh, frustrated, and walked on. She carried her case with her katana, not coat or an umbrella.
Feet sloshed in puddles at the water drops bounced off the street. Everything was… so much nicer up here. Hell, even the air felt cleaner and more refreshing. It’d be nice to live here once everything was over, but she knew she got too used to the Underground. Not to mention she would go back to living alone. Just that single thought caused her to stop.
She had grown attached to them.
Just the concept itself was crazy.
In that moment, Naoto hadn’t noticed the rain had stopped and overhead, a rainbow appeared. She had only read about them in books, but to actually see one… was breathtaking.
She knew for a fact that they would have all loved to see it.
They had a couple of things to get over first, but maybe, just maybe, they could see what’s over and at the end of the rainbow together.
