There was something about the way she held her head in her hands. Something about how she sighed when she was upset. This wasn’t the cute nine year old he was used to. Nine turned twenty two and what a fine turn it was. Really, he cared about her. It wasn’t about the ‘nice rack’ she acquired over the years… okay it was. That’s not the point. She was cute, but he couldn’t really call her cute now. She matured just how he thought she would. Just some places matured past his outlook.
But she was hurting and he wasn’t going to stand for it. He… he hurt her. Stupid little puny, twitchy, no good human… Son of a bitch was going to pay.
It wasn’t even about her at the time. She asked him not to hurt the other. She was his weakness and she exploited it without even knowing. Damn, she was good.
“Take advantage of my kindness kiddo and we may have a problem.”
