evan and i agreed that after christmas, we would finally start tackling things on our mounting to do list. obviously there are lot of things relating directly to the baby - preparing the nursery, finding a pediatrician, looking into daycare options, taking child birth classes, touring the hospital, etc. there are a lot of other things we'd really like to do, too though - buy a new car, sell my car, look into refinancing our mortgage, prepare wills, purchase life insurance, etc. i tend to freak out when i have too much to do, because i want to do it all at once and it seems so overwhelming. evan has helped mitigate my freak outs very well. :) we've just been setting a few goals to accomplish every weekend, and so far i think it's working out great. over the past three weekends, we managed to completely clean out the office (which really had just become a junk room after my desktop stopped working). we got a lot of trash thrown away and a lot of things set aside for charity. i also cleaned out our closet. i had to put some of my pre-pregnancy clothes away in boxes to make room for my maternity clothes and the new things i got for christmas. i probably need to give some more clothes to charity but i am such a pack rat that it's hard for me to let go of things, even when i haven't worn them for a year or so! evan and steve spent a lot of time cleaning out our basement this weekend. i'd like to finish the basement eventually, but i sort of doubt that will happen before the baby comes. for now it will be nice just to have everything cleaned up, tools neatly stored, etc. we ordered a lot of photos online and finally filled and hung up all the frames we got for our wedding. my dad ordered plans to build a cradle and he and evan have talked about doing that together. my mom and i will probably go shopping for a gliding rocker this weekend. i've always wanted one, ever since my babysitting days when i used to rock some of the kids to sleep. we still have a lot to do but it's feeling pretty manageable right now.

we are still finding time to do fun things too. at bowling two weekends ago, i got a four bagger and bowled my highest game ever - 183! my previous high was around a 168, which i bowled at the triangle lanes in blacksburg while i was in college and completely hammered on natty light! we went to my parents with steve for the super bowl, and my mom provided lots of tasty snacks. i don't think i've ever actually watched so much of a football game in my life. evan and i watched the newest indiana jones on pay per view and it was as bad as we heard it was.

my meeting with my boss went okay. we pretty much just discussed my desired location, salary, etc. and she agreed that she would look for something for me. i guess that's all i can ask for. even though i know taking care of a newborn child will be difficult, i have to say that i'm positively giddy at the idea of not working at my day job for three months. i'll be 24 weeks pregnant on thursday... only 16 more to go!
