♘ CHARACTER INFORMATION
[ name ] Death the Kid
[ fandom ] Soul Eater
[ canon point ] Chapter 54, the middle of the Operation Seize Baba Yaga’s Castle arc
[ age ] Not stated, appears around 14-16
[ personality ] Serious, level-headed, refined, intelligent, slightly spoiled, intense, and sophisticated are all words that can be used to describe Death the Kid. A shinigami, and son and heir of the current reigning death god, he takes his role very seriously. Perhaps, even a bit too seriously. You see, he’s somehow gotten it in his head (despite his father’s laid-back, accepting personality) that he has to be perfect. Completely. Perfect. And that everything around him should be perfect as well.
This perfectionism is manifested in a rather severe case of
OCPD (Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder),
OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), and in an obsession with bilateral symmetry. This of course causes some issues, like being three hours late to school because he had to clean and arrange his house, scoring a 0 on a test because he spent the entire time trying to write his name properly, and running off in the middle of missions to check and make sure that a painting in his house was hanging properly, or that he folded the end of the toilet paper into a triangle. His OCPD causes issues when he’s actually in a fight as well. He can’t attack an opponent who’s symmetrical, even if they’re going to kill him. Destroying symmetry, or being almost-symmetrical-but-not-quite can send him into a blind rage, blasting away with his twin guns until whatever offended him is totally destroyed.
The OCPD makes him majorly a comic relief character, but aside from this issue, Death the Kid is a calm, levelheaded person, who cares for his friends, is loyal to the death, and isn’t above acting like a kid when he has the opportunity.

Soul Eater Wiki [ appearance ]
that’s him in the middle there [ abilities ] Despite his comic-relief position in the story, Kid is quite literally, a god, and as such, he has some rather, shall we say godmod abilities. He also is a meister, and when working with his weapons, his power is nothing short of impressive. As one of his teammates says “I’d forgotten because he’s usually so low-key, but he’s a shinigami after all… that was a whole different order of magnitude.”
Shinigami abilities
Phisycal body - Unaffected by poisons and UV radiation. Incredible athletic abilities, including higher speed, stamina, strength, and flexibility than a human.
Konso - “soul storage”. Kid can store souls in his body for later use. Also, a sort of hammerspace.
Lines of Sanzo - The white lines on Kid’s hair are apparently something other than a source of perpetual woe for his OCPD. Not much is known about these at this time, other than the fact that when his power level increases and they connect, they give him access to higher-level shinigami abilities, such as energy shields in the shape of a skull, and energy tentacles which can reattach limbs. They appear to be a sign of his maturation as a shinigami. A hint. Don’t mention them. They’re asymmetric.
Soul Perception - Can gauge an opponent's spiritual power level by looking at their soul.
Communication - Can open up a communication link between himself and his father (and possibly others), mimicking the usual use of a mirror for communication, but without actually using a mirror on his end of the connection.
Shishin Taijutsu - Death God Martial Arts. An unusual fighting style focused on hand-to-hand combat and oddly contorted poses. It does not require weapons to be used effectively. He very rarely fights seriously, since it draws attention to the fact that he is impossibly beyond human in his abilities.
Stance of Crime - The offensive form, focused on chops, kicks, and hammer blows.
Stance of Punishment - A more defensive form, in which he has used his weapons for attacks.
Weapons
Patti and Liz Thompson are the two teenage girls who are Kid’s weapons. They transform into .38 caliber Twin Demon Guns and fire energy blasts. Kid is not going to be pleased that they are not here with him.
Soul Resonance - when in connection with his weapons
Death Cannon - his weapons transform into cannon barrels, covering his lower arms. Black spikes extend from his upper arms and his back. A massive cannon-like double shot of energy.
Beelzebub
Kid’s skateboard. It’s usually stored in konso. He’s talented with it, and uses it in battle on occasion, or just to play around. Capable of flight, and of traveling at least 500 km/hr (311 mph). And yes, he can ride it at that speed without any obvious discomfort. Told you he was godmod.

♗ SAMPLES
[ first person ]
[A young teenager stares at the looking-glass for a long moment, possibly waiting for someone to stare back at him. When he speaks, his tone is highly formal, as is his clothing, in contrast to what can only be a deliberate fashion statement of three horizontal white stripes on his black hair.]
I was hoping it would be possible to in some way acquire another weapon. I have only one gun, and that is quite unacceptable. I am sure I cannot be alone in this respect, and trust that someone has taken it upon himself or herself to remedy this horrific situation.
[ third person ]
One-two-three-fourand-one-two-andthree-four-oneand-twoand-three-four…
The quick, rhythmic motions of the Stance of Crime flowed rapidly together as he praticed. Simple, clean, symmetric. Trying to get used to moving without the familiar weight of his weapons in his hands.
Calm down, clear your head, think. One-two-three-four-one-andtwo-andthree-fourand-one-two-three-four… No Patti. No Liz. None of the other Shibusen students. No way home. No way to contact anyone at home. One-two-threeand-four-droptherhythmjustmove… No witches. No kishin. No one trying to drive the world insane.
A pause in his solo sparing match, shifting from the Stance of Crime to the Stance of Punishment. Different rhythm, different movements. He used Patti and Liz more in this form of the shishin taijutsu. He was going to have to learn to do without.
One-two-three-pause-one-two-pause-four-pause-two-three-four… MAFIA. Horrid name. Totally unorganized. Criminal associations. Admirable goals. One-pause-two-three-one-two-three-four… Royalists. Organized. Maintaining the status-quo. The Queen is insane. One-two-three-pause-droptherhythmjustmove… Carnival. No motive. No stated purpose. No unity. No organization.
A sigh. This was going to be troublesome.
