♫ Gingham Bow Nail Tutorial ♫
The song Beautiful Target by B1A4 has been stuck in my head the entire weekend! When I watch the video, I feel like the F4 (or F5 in this case?) from Hana Yori Dango has stepped onto my screen, and my heart is zoom zoom like a rocket ♪(゚▽^*)ノ⌒☆

So in the spirit of happiness, I've decided to take a break from homework and do my nails. It's my first attempt at this design, so I feel like I messed up more than I had to ヘ(´o`)ヘ But all in all I had a lot of fyun!
(Yes, I am refering to fun as fyun, don't ask XD)

Follow the cut if you want to see how I did it && additional pictures ^___^!

These nails were inspired by MimiMemeko's Strawberry Pink Gingham Nail Tutorial from YouTube, so if you're interested in seeing the original, be sure to check out her tutorial~

I wanted crystals incorporated in my nails, so I replaced her strawberries with tiny bows (and a heart on the tiny pinky). I don't know what it is about shiny objects, but they make me haaappy, haha~ ☆^▽^☆

Okay, enough talk! It's time to get down to business *serious face*

What I Used (refer to the additional pictures):
♥ A thin paintbrush
♥ A paper clip (a dotting pen or toothpick)
♥ Seche Clear crystal clear base coat
♥ China Glaze in White on White
♥ China Glaze in Go Go Pink
♥ China Glaze in Naked
♥ China Glaze in Re-Fresh Mint
♥ Seche Vite dry fast top coat
♥ Tiny Crystals (I got mine for about $2 for 240 pieces at Wal-Mart)

Honestly, you can use any color you want for these nails, but I'm a huge pink + green fan~

Directions:
1. To start: Apply a base coat to each finger. Wait to dry.
2. French manicure: Apply White on White to the tips of your fingers. The size of the manicure is up to you. For me, I covered a little less than half of each nail, because I've got super tiny fingers aka not enough nail space. Wait to dry.
3. To begin the gingham pattern: Draw thin, horizontal lines with your paintbrush using Go Go Pink. I drew 2 lines per nail. After doing each nail, I went back over each line a second time.
4. To finish the gingham pattern: Repeat step 3, except this time make vertical lines, perpendicular to the horizontal ones. Once again, I went back over each line a second time.
5. To create a bow: Using your paper clip, draw dots using Naked. Draw the dots at the cross-sections where the Go Go Pink lines intersect.
6. Now, using Re-Fresh Mint, draw 5 dots, like so:

7. To create the scrunched bow effect: Wait about a minute for the polish to get tacky. Using the other side (still sharp) of the paperclip, scrape a line from the center dot outwards to the middle of the other 4 dots.
8. Apply crystal: Apply a crystal to the center dot.
9. Optional heart for pinky: Using the side of the paperclip that should now be dull with dried polish, draw a heart on your pinky finger (it won't scrape the polish underneath).
10. To end: Wait for all that to dry. Then apply top coat to seal your nail polish and give it a shiny gloss!
That's it :D
