You can read my review of the Supernatural episode "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" at pinkraygun.com. Thank you!

An excerpt:

Sam, of course, knows better, and back at the motel, the boys have a major dither as Sam calls his brother to task. I’m sure it must be getting old for him trying to make Dean talk, trying to make him admit that the ( Read more... )

Wonderful review! And the episode was really wonderful, too, with all that lovely manpain. :D Not to forget Angela the killerzombie. What can I say, I'm guilty of being into zombies.

She’s dressed in her underwear,
Don't you always run around in your underwear when you're at home? ;) Why do Sam and Dean never wear just underwear when they dither in their motel rooms? It's not that I want to see them naked, really, it's just that Show would save a lot of money if it dressed them in less layers. *nods emphatically*

Watching him having to put up with her sobbing is pretty funny though.
Teehee. I love the annoyed look on his face when Lindsey keeps sobbing how great Angela was while all he wants to hear is what a nasty chick she was.

Casa Erotica Four...I’d say he’s already seen One through Three and who knows what else by the time Dean sashays in.
Yep, he didn't seem to excited by the action on screen. After watching all those porns he was probably worn out.

by Angela’s graveside, Sam does that thing with his gun. He lifts up his ( ... )

If someone could explain the whole zombie thing, then I could get more excited about the MOW this week. For me, it's that they're genuinely horrifying: they used to be people... maybe people you knew... and (depending upon their origin - radiation, virus, magic, etc.) you could easily become one too. And like you said, there would be maybe some compensation for being a vampire, but there's nothing sexy about being a zombie... you might be sentient or you might not... you're definitely doomed & might doom everyone around you. Zombie stories, especially ones in which there's a shambling horde & a seige, tend to be bleak & sometimes apocalyptic & I could watch all day. Probably they're an acquired taste, though - if you're not already crazy about them I don't expect to be able to convince you ( ... )

I once saw an icon that said, "What's dead should stay dead...except for Sammy!" The picture was of Dean in this ep as he's shouting at the poor dad for maybe bringing his daughter to life. I thought it was so true, because I think, in part, that's what this ep was about -about what you're willing to do for someone you love. I think the whole zombie thing was a metaphor for that, like you say, another monster would not have done the job as well ( ... )

Zombies are fun! I knew you were looking forward to this review because of the whole zombie thing...I just could not figure out the attraction!

Yeah, I suspect "zombies, zombies, zombies!" is a kind of visceral response that you either have or don't. It's hard to explain or understand rationally.

Yes, this episode marks the first appearance of Sam's damnably ugly pink paisley blouse. I must have been too distracted on Tuesday to geek about it properly!

You and my sister and my friend Dan and a whole host of other people I know would get along so well!

Plenty of time to geek during season 2 about that damn shirt, and I'm totally looking forward to it! And the part in Sam's hair. I kind of went off about it in the next review. You'll see. My sister goes..."boy you sure are negative about that!" But he looks so SWEET in bangs!

Hon, I'd have to say that I'm with you on this one. Zombies interest me not at all. Never actually have. Vampires and Werewolves have always been my big thing. Mostly Vampires though ( ... )

Now to the rest of my comment. *Sticks tongue out at lj*Now lets skip ahead to honestly my second most favorite scene of all three seasons. You guessed it, that last scene on the hillside. I'd have to say that I'm right with you there on how awesome it is to see Dean cry. The first time I watched it I didn't catch the tear in his eye until he turned towards Sammy and then back again and I thought I'd fall off my bed trying to get to the remote to back it up and watch it again. I thought 'that was a tear, a real tear, and the best man crying scene I'd ever seen in my entire life' That one tear just blew me completely away. Then once I calmed myself enough to listen to his words I was crying right along with him. Because as you and Dean both said "What can Sammy say to make that alright?" I begged and I pleaded with Sammy just to come up with something anything that would lessen his pain and I still do everytime I watch the scene, even if I do know that there is nothing he can say or do ( ... )

You have tons of patience and a very thoughtful way of looking at the eps! I was struck by your idea of picking your favorite scene in ALL three seasons...I gawp at your ability to narrow this down! I love it though, the one you picked, for Dean's suffering, like you say, and the boneless heap that Sam is in his brother's arms. Someone got it right because Sam's lips are almost white - they're white at the edges and still red in the middle becuase that's what happens when you bleed a lot. Excellent stuff ( ... )

My, I'm imagining how much fun it would be to go back and pick out my favorite scenes from every episode going by the criterias you just laid out. Oh my, I'd be in heaven. Honestly I choose my favorite scene by how many times I've went back and rewatched it. Sammy's death I have seen more times than I can ever think of, on my discs, on Youtube, on anywhere I can find it. This scene is real close but not quite so much ( ... )
