turkey, beer, and discipline

I'm glad Thanksgiving is over. My mother has a bad back and has a hard time standing up. Every year she insists on doing everything for dinner. My guess is half of it is just for sympathy (look at the sacrifices I make for my family). Anyway, the only thing she would let me do is peel potatoes. 10 lbs of potatoes. I actually don't mind. Peeling and chopping potatoes is one of those meditative chores for me. I can almost understand why autistic children find comfort in repetitive actions. Anyway, there was a whole big argument about the potatoes in the end. I gave up. Dinner was at 3pm. Theresa and I were out of there by 4pm. We went over to Amanda's. We colored our placemats. I don't want to get into the rest, how I had to play disciplinarian to everyone there (children and dogs). I'm just glad Thanksgiving is over. It is, by far, my least favorite holiday. I don't eat turkey, I don't really like pie, and I hate how everyone seems to fight more during the holidays.
