A challenge to myself.

Okay, so I have been told by many people that I am a pretty decent writer. Problem being that I don't usually enjoy writing. In an effort to overcome this, sort of get the feel for actually sitting down and writing something out, I want to give myself a bit of a push ( Read more... )

writing, challenge

umm also...didn't you factor in the....factor that your circle of friends is somewhat cruel about things like this...and you would get NOTHING but outrageous ideas?
Or is that what you wanted, and ur a closet masochist?
HRM.
I miss hanging with you guys (the few times i did...lol), and trying to steal ur brothers' action figures. If you're dannan's brother...dont' read that last part pls. XD

I was actually counting on getting intriguing ideas that would spark an interesting story. So far I have not been disappointed. I already have the germs of ideas for the Luddite professor, the emo teen with the overly successful father, and several ideas for the caveman with the mohawk. The girl that constantly eats marshmallows is a bit more difficult, but I think I have the beginnings of a story for her worked out also. I think her story will be a rather sad one.

My recommendation would be to write something about an NPC for one of our various campaigns. Maybe, say Hai Yo from Spelljammer. Write something about backstory or what the NPC thinks of the goings on in whatever campaign.

I have actually thought of doing something like this for some of the new Spelljammer NPCs, but there are so many to choose from that it is a daunting task & I would rather play with Cady. I do have an idea for one of them, though.
