I started writing this post this afternoon. There wasn’t any work to do at the office and I was so bored. Pulling the novel I’m currently reading out from my bag and spend the rest of the workday reading didn’t seem to be a good idea Yeah… pretending to work when there’s nothing to do seems to be the thing to do in this firm, whatever. So I started writing this silly post trying to come up with something to write about.
This past weekend, I’ve watch some tv as usual:
I gave The Middleman a try and didn’t regret it! The show is so much fun to watch. It has super fast-paced witty dialogues, which I had to replay several times because if found them too fast for my non-native English speaker ears. The female protagonist has lots of spunk and snark! The Middleman is a stereotypical hero with a totally hilarious old fashioned speech, he says swell! HEE! I love the cartoonish and sometimes cheesy feel to this show, where dangerous situations abound and are usually resolved by crazy means! It’s a very enjoyable combination of action and humor; I’m so going to watch the next episodes! Eee!
I also watched the first episodes of Fear Itself and Masters of Science Fiction, mainly because geekyBF wanted to watch those two shows. I’m not a fan of horror movies because I rarely find one that really scares the hell out of me, which in my opinion is what “horror” movies should do; basically when it comes to horror movies nowadays, I either laugh at their stupidity or get grossed out by them. The first episode of Fear Itself, a vampire story (the ugly vicious kind of vampire) titled
The Sacrifice, neither appalled me nor engrossed me, though. Then we watched episode one of Masters of Science Fiction, titled
A Clean Escape, one of those science fiction stories that deals with the human condition in a post-apocalyptic world. I really liked this one, especially due to Judy Davis's incredible acting in it!
After having finished watching Around 40 and Powerful Opponents (I must be one of the very few viewers who didn’t hate the ending of this kdrama *shrugs*), and the lack of new subtitles for Iljimae *pouts*, I’m looking for a jdrama and/or kdrama to watch next. Yesterday I tried My Sweet City (a.k.a. My Sweet Seoul). The premise of this drama is not very original, the life and relationships of a 31 year old single woman in Seoul, but it is surprisingly well executed and charming in my opinion. It has the feel of everyday life featuring characters acting more like everyday people. It is slow paced, subtle, full of introspection and voiceovers so that we can delve into the thoughts of the female protagonist. The first episode has been a delicious surprise! Probably I’ll watch the second episode tonight! Eee!
I said "probably" because look what I found in my mailbox when I got home today! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! *death by Eee!*
As soon as I post this entry I’m going to get in the kitchen and cook meat sauce and putanesca sauce!!! I’m so in the mood for pasta this week!
Speaking of which, does any of you guys have a favorite pasta sauce? If you do I would love if you shared the recipe wth me!!! You can call this the shameless plea for pasta sauce recipes! *hee*
