Counting crows

I have to say, I'm getting overly involved in this book, The Tales of the South: Chronicles of the Black Company. Its addicting. It reads like a television drama. You've got a cast of characters all interacting, some romantically, mixing with revenge and backstabbing, all while there is a grand struggle for good and evil. You see a game going on, each piece with no clear indication of where its moving to. I still have a chunk to read before I reach the end of the second section, but things are really beginning to ramp up, and the next section looks intimidating. Why? Its about the big evil guy from the first book, the guy it took two sections to keep at bay.

All while I read this, I listen to music. Music always gives me ideas. A lyric will pop out and I envision a character, a setting, a plot. More and more I transition to IAMX and I hear connections between what I've toyed around with and the grand project. I see potential to mix it into the second book of the series. The problem is I haven't even really written the plot of the first book, and its helpful to know where one book ends and the next begins. I played with the idea of modifying the sequence to introduce the book I'm writing as the first book, but that will do me no good. No. I need to write the first book.

Still, I see potential. If I know what I want to do next, it may influence the plot of the previous. I may need to sit down this weekend and just hammer down the plot of the first book and stick to it. Even better I should just write another solid page of notes and slowly introduce details. Its all very up in the air. What I want to do now is just read my damn book. And watch Modern Family later...

On a side note... I really hope Versant makes a full album soon.
