So in Last Remnant, occasionally when you defeat monsters you capture them whole. You then have the choice to take the captured monster home and sell it for cash and the opportunity at trade goods, or split it for parts (which are used to make/upgrade equipment). The best part about this is the item description on the captured monsters, which reads ( Read more... )

Yeah, same here for a long time. Fortunately we have something like four playthroughs of the game going on between the three of us in the house, and I started compiling it finally. XD

...I do not even remember what enemy that is, actually

Darken Forest [spoilers]?

...Wow, really? That one was -- the hardest part for me was that I felt awful about going through with it when [spoilers]. It only took me about three turns. ^^;;

p-possibly I had been leveling too much?

I know they can hit you with some nasty spells if they get going, though (similar class monsters will be random enemies later), so maybe I got lucky, too....

Maybe my incredible luck has just run out. I didn't have any problems with ... well, any of the bosses before this one. Even Hell's Gate wasn't terribly bad.

I'll just keep dying and hoping the next run gives me blackout on the first turn or something ;A;

I sort of loved the Hell's Gate battle. I mean, it was tricky, but I didn't really feel like I was outclassed at any point. And it was the first time I'd run into Enthrall, which is the coolest creepy status effect ever. nngh.

I love this game unreasonably a lot omg

You can force-trigger Blackout by selecting the right combination of mystic arts skills, if you get the chance -- I think it takes two people casting Invocations and a third casting Evocations, if I'm remembering right. I-it always seemed to happen to me by accident when it wouldn't be especially helpful. ^^;;;

HELL'S GATE WAS TRAUMATIC

IT SHOT FLAMING BABIES AT ME OH MY GOD

FLAMING. BABIES. Let me show you my freudian fears :(

So do I

But yeah Anima keeps enthralling my unions and then I have to break deadlock to kill 'em and bring 'em back and then it rapes me with Wildfire+Permafrost

SUCH AMAZING MONSTER DESIGN

One of the downloadable bosses is a Hell's Gate clone. I found it and just sort of...snuck around it while it loomed there waiting for me to lose my common sense and approach. SO UPSETTING. and awesome.

o-ouch, yeah, that sounds pretty awful. Good luck! ...There's like three of them, right? Are you dogpiling one or trying to deadlock all of them at once?

I've got four unions, three which I have engaging and I try to keep one in standby for healing, but that falls apart pretty quickly once enthrall gets tossed around.

Does Torgal (or anyone, I guess. He just got it first, for us) know Stealth yet? That will keep his unit from being deadlocked.

...Also IIRC the battle is over once you defeat the main Anima (the [spoiler] one), so you don't have to worry about all three sets of them. Or. Well. You have to worry about them, but not defeat them.

Mmm, no. It would be Pagus who's working on Wards--he's only up to Protection. (I always say "oh good Pagus, you should always use Protection!" when it comes up,and I immediately hurt myself in my soul). I'll run around killing things for a while and see if I can't get him to learn that one :|b

Stealth is a Psionics skill (like Bluff), which I think is why Torgal got it for us. We had him bluffing all the tiiiime.

Well, Pagus IS a very wise, learned old frog.
Ours was always "You know, Rush, I don't think your one-eyed monster is really gonna help, here". Or "Emmy! Bust out the twins!"

Sweet, you're...sort of close, then! He has Addle and Maledict to get through before Stealth, but Maledict is supremely rad. Torgal hates everyone to death :|

People certainly will...remember the...name Honeywell. That's for sure.
