Well..thank goodness that's over!

Early last week, Dad had surgery again. It was a minor thing, but he makes the *worst* patient ever. Everything they tell him NOT to do, he has to try doing, and, when he is behaving himself, he expects people to respond within seconds when he calls never mind the fact that people do need time to cook, clean, and go to the bathroom! He also complains. A lot.

I held my tongue, but WOW did he drive me mental! The stress of it set me off into a long, continuous headache from hell that knocked me on my ass for five days.

Finally, mercifully, it broke yesterday afternoon...

only to find out about Hurricane Irene. (Yes, I was that out of it.)

I saw a few people on my flist post about being okay -- several of which were flocked so I will respect your privacy and not name specific people. Please know that I'm *very* thankful you guys are okay though. *HUGS*

I've also heard from all of my IRL friends and family that lived in the path. They're okay -- a few flooded basements and leaking windows, and some still without power which I *know* really, seriously blows not only because you're bored out of your mind but it's harder to cook, to have decent food, to get news/updates on power outages and what not, or even just to take a bath by flashlight.

I'm still waiting to hear from a few people I know from LJ though, some of which I know tend to lurk. I would *really* appreciate you guys updating your LJ or reply in the comments or send me a PM. I know I can be flighty at times and not do things in a timely manner because I get buried until RL stuff, but I *do* care and worry about you guys. Please let me know you're okay! :(
