Faith No More

I've been up for 20 hours... 5 of those hours have been drinking... I'm tired as hell and I don't know what's up. I had to work the PaperHeart tonight (that's why I've been up so late) and to tell of that whole ordeal would be insane. I will say that "Acoustic Showcase" night bring a SHITLOAD of lesbians. I've never seen so many women without makeup and brohawk haircuts in my life. To be honest... my libido doesn't want to see that either.

Anyways... the funny part. I got a ride home and was walking up to my gheto-ass apartment complex. An old man asked me if I had a pen. He needed to write down an apartment number because they had an american flag that was tattered, or something... I gained respect for him as he told me about how a flag that's "soiled" need not be displayed as it shames us. He was 60-soemthing. He'd been in 3 wars (one was Korean, another I can't remember, and the last was Desert Storm.) It was kinda cool listening to him. I like old people sometimes as they are a link to history. War veterans often offer the most interesting information. I just love history when it's told from a person's perspective! It's just really cool!

Well, he was telling me too about his living situation. He lives with his "step-daughter" right now. The reason I put that in quotations is that he tokd me she wasn't really his step-daughter, but he felt that it was a good way to explain it. She's 32. They just enjoy each others company. He also told me that he suffers from shell shock as a bullet (or shrapnel, something like that) went two inches past his head in some war and he's never gotten over it. He's too young for medicare and can't afford the medications so, and this is where everything took a nasty turn, he explain that he does a couple of lines of glass (methanphetamines).

Now... I HATE speed. It's a drug of control. That's why cafiene is legal. It helps keep the public speeding and closes their minds. Other drugs open it up. However, the POWERS THAT BE would prefer us to be complacent and stupid. Speed acomplishes that very nicely. So the thought of a three time war veteran (who's still alive) doing lines of meth at 60-something kinda breaks my heart. He's a respectable kat, but the meth thing just makes him a sad story.

So remember... meth is a drug for weak-minded douche bags. And sad ex-war veterans....
