But on Monday I am enrolling at Carroll Community College and dropping my classes at Anne Arundel Community College for Fall 2004. This is what I've figured, I'll do this on a point by point basis, as that's how I think.
1. I don't want to commute from Westminster to AACC. And a job somewhere in-between. I'd be taking full time classes, and working (not sure how many hours, as I still need a job). I think that would be too much stress for me - to leave Westminster at 7 or 8 am, drive down 695, 97, and 50 (horrible highways, bad traffic), work however many hours, go to class for three hours (four days a week) and drive an hour home at like 930 pm and not get back til after 10 pm. Yeah, no, not sounding like fun.
2. Originally, I was going to go to Carroll, but the A+P classes were full. It's a two semester deal, A+P is, and I wanted to be in nursing school by Fall 2005, so, I had to get A+P 1 this semester, blah blah blah. So then I decided to go to AACC. I was adamant about getting into the School of Nursing for Fall 2005. But now I've realized that I can postpone that by one semester to Spring 2006. And it actually works better. (as seen below).
3. I could enroll in a program, thus keeping some of my state scholarships, and getting an "expected date of graduation" letter for my insurance and having health insurance up to that date (as opposed to having to be full time every semester and get a letter every semester stating such). Of course, this program requires three more classes than I need for nursing pre-requisites. I will not be completing this program, just... getting health insurance. (shhh, don't tell Tricare).
4. I'd have to be full time THIS semester - and I'll be signing up for Stats, Intro to Psych, Intro to Soc, and Medical Terminology online (which I don't need, but I need a fourth class, and that would help me anyway). But next semester I'd only take 3 classes, and Fall 05 I'd take two, and I'd have to take one during the little tiny winter semester right before going to nursing school.
5. This makes me less stressed. I have a tendency to be goal-minded to a fault, I forget about the practicality of the present situation.
6. There are more jobs in Baltimore/Owings Mills/Towson. Means I'd be more likely to get a job. Am getting the Balt. Sun tomorrow (today, Sunday). Sending resumes either tomorrow or Monday.
I have to sign up for classes on Monday (in person) as some of them only have 4 spots left, EEEEK! So I think I will go to Angel's tomorrow and spend the night, so I'm there Monday morning.
What do you all think? Make sense?
