I'm sorry you're having a crappy time! Something will turn up job-wise!

Now, what's the consequence of missing your nursing information session? Did you just miss out on info, or are you not able to be in certain classes because of it?

oh, and i have all the info in a packet and online. and an application. so it's not too big a deal really, just makes me feel crappy. there will be more info sessions, as well as an open house in the fall. i just hope they don't keep my name on file as someone who didn't show up... heh.

If you're worried, just give the school a call and tell them you were ill. No biggie. But I can see where you would feel discouraged, even though you shouldn't be. :-)

thanks. :) i'm not too discouraged about that, honestly. (it's just that on top of the no job, life-on-hold-for-6-month stuff). but yeah, my parents are more discouraging than anything right now. they've basically given up on me, it seems. they kinda just ignore me and dont' talk to me about anything. so yeah. oh well. i'll stop complaining now.

thank you, again. :-D what year are you in nursing school, or how far from graduating, i should say?

Well, you're younger than me so it's shittier for you, but I basically have no contact with my family any more AT ALL. Not my sister, my brother, my parents. They hate me (well, my parents claim they love me, but they certainly acted VERY hateful a few months back) and I really don't feel anything in the way of affection for them any more.

I'm sorry your parents are being shitty. That's really rotten of them!

I will graduate in MAY!! Then we hope to move back to Eau Calre and i will finish up my BSN (which shouldn't take me long at all) and I plan on going to midwifery school! Yay!

awesome! i guess i'm doing it a little different, i'm going to do my BSN right away, instead of ADN first. for me, it'd be quicker. but the ADN first is great too, cause you can work as an RN while getting BSN. :-D may - so soon!

i'm sorry about your family, that's quite horrible. may i ask why the falling out? that's just crappy.

midwives are my heroes. i work with some at a birth center. they're such wonderful people. did you have your kids with a midwife?

I am doing the ADN route because I don't live anywhere with a four-year school! That and it's easier to do the tech-school-thing (as far as convenience goes) when you have a family you're taking care of, too.

I have 136 undergraduate credits from a four-year university (this is NOT including my nursing school credits) so I don't have much I'll have to do when I do complete my BSN, which is very nice, and we're hoping to move to Eau Claire, WI, which is where I went to school originally, which would be very nice to be able to do my BSN there. I would then do my CNM over in the Twin Cities.

I'd rather not tell you about my family in here. It's VERY personal stuff. I might put a post for you in my journal, but it's LONG, so not sure when I'll write it.

completely understandable about the family. aside from generalizations, there's many things i would never post in my LJ about my family, except for a few people's private reading. and certainly, if you'd rather not discuss it, i understand. :)

i considered going the ADN route so i could get working sooner and it'd be easier to do that and have a full-time job at the same time. but the midwives and nurses i worked with advised against it. and it'd actually take just about as much time to get the BSN. wow, mega credits! did you receive a degree from the university? i have about 64 from my four year university. how long will you be in school for your BSN? how big a city is eau claire?

and i need to tell you i love your bush icon. haha, my dad gets physically sick at the sound of bush's voice.

I can't stand his voice either. I seriously can't stand it! The only time I can listen to him is if I'm watching "The Daily Show" or something where I know they'll make funny of him. I can't stand looking at that bastard.

The quote on that icon is from the musical "Wicked." It's not a reference to Bush, but I couldn't resist using it as such!
