Day 16

The workshop project rumbles on. The process of putting up the OSB for the roof was complicated by some minor errors in rafter alignment. Some slight repair work in necessary to fill some gaps and a bit of reinforcement is needed on the rafters themselves.

Looking right and left from inside the door.

Connor, after being freed from the workshop. He pushed the door shut and couldn't open it to get out, because there is no handle inside, just a deadbolt knob.

The edge of the roof.

Close-up, where you can see that the rafters didn't turn out 100% perfect. This is mostly due to the difficulty in cutting the bird's-mouth in the rafter. That's the angle-cut which sits atop the wall. Hard to do with my crappy circular saw, slightly less difficult with my crappy jigsaw, and my table saw produced too much over-cut in the one we tried on that not-so-crappy tool. I think a band saw would have been really good here. Or better models of the circular or jig saws. Totally servicable though, especially give the way they're attached to the walls (with framing angles - I'll get pics of that soon).
