I was going to write a post about what it was like to go through my first set of copyedits, but this came across my desk and I thought I'd share.
AMONG THIEVES and it's two contracted sequels have been picked up by Tor/Macmillan for publication in the the United Kingdom and Australia. Apparently there were a couple of UK publishers interested, and Tor/Mac won out. Publication dates should more-or-less coincide with the U.S. dates (beginning of April, 2011, for AT).
To say I wasn't expecting this would be an understatement in the extreme: I was hoping, maybe, to sell some foreign rights if the books did well here. (And I am still hoping that will happen, let's be honest. Germany et al, are you listening?) But to move all three based on the first book's manuscript? Flabbergasted. And thrilled. Oh, yeah, and a bit more intimidated now, too. 'Cause, you know, no pressure, right?
But the coolest part is that my books are going to be reaching an even wider audience. Just knowing they are going to be read on three continents from the get-go is a thrill.
So, yeah - happy dance. Then back to work. :)
