I am also going for the "perfectionist" achievement, and you need Loghain to kill the archdemon as one of the endings, according to what I read.

Sure! You'll get a request from "marilynd"

Hmm, I wonder what happens if you spare Loghain and make Alistair king instead of Anora. Does he still kill Loghain?

I did that on accident, and was skipping through a bunch of the scenes and I don't remember. But he did break up with me and that made me sad, so I called him an ass and then reloaded!

It is so sad when he dumps you! I wasn't expecting it, either. Remind me not to make him king when I play as a non-noble woman.

I finally beat the game last night so now I can look at the spoilery threads. Man oh man, that is sad. :( I don't know all the endings, but so far, they all seem soul-crushingly depressing. Thanks for posting this so that I don't have to bother finishing the game with Loghain myself, hehehehe :p I don't think I have it in my heart to do it.

I was able to do it partly because when I did the landsmeet the wrong way, Alistair broke up with me. So I wanted to get back at him, haha! But no, it's pretty sad that Alistair leaves in order to get Loghain.
