A kind Hawke. :) Yes, mine was somewhat like that too... I always thought she was a little naive though. Mine let him live, but she let him go. Yep, the doomed romances to end all doomed romances. D: Good god, all I've been playing on my iTunes are sappy love songs after sappy love songs.
Wow, my heart clenched at that point. I agree wholeheartedly. It still gets me, how depressing the whole outcome of the game is, no matter who you romance, it's just... Dust and ashes and betrayal. No one is completely good, and no one is completely bad.
Hehe, yes, she is very much in love, and it's not letting her go. She's more in love with his memory and she's struggling to fit the past and present together. I didn't /want/ to write from his POV, because it's more powerful to not know everything in a story. Yes angst galore! And I wrote an essay in reply too, I'm sorry. xD I love fluff, I think I need to write some... Honestly, I do want to write more. ;A; But I want to sleep, as well. Ahhh, decisions. Thank you so much for reading though, and for discussing this with me. Healing process. xD
Oops, another essay reply...but healing process! (And Anders approves of healing)
Oh my Hawke was almost ridiculously naive, which was a really weird viewpoint for a mage. But yes, she was always the "goody-two-shoes" responses, except when extra pissed off or just really frustrated (only people she ever really wanted to annoy and then kill that I remember were Petrice or however her name was spelt and Quentin - but that was because they were both assholes XD)
I didn't have Sebastian DLC so I think that made the choice of letting Anders live a little easier for Hawke. She realised that everything had essentially gone to hell, and there was no way in hell that Anders was going to just walk away from her (also no way she could ever have killed him, no matter how much he hurt her). He shut her out and lied to her but she still loved him because he was family. When it came to her friends and family, that was the only time she ever really didn't think ahead - "screw the consequences, people need me"! Barely gave a second thought when he asked her to run away with him - it was what he wanted, and she wanted him.
I think my Hawke was also very guilty of seeing Anders in the past (not helped by his random cute/funny moments that popped up every now and again - except in Act 3 of course. Much less cute, much more angst) - but again, she loved everything in him that was human and then some, just as he loved her back with everything that was human in him.
There's going to be some really terrible awkward silences in their future though - in her heart she's forgiven him, but common sense will start to kick back in after they leave crazy old Kirkwall and its disaster zone....
Sleep is good! But so is writing lovely DA2 fic......you must choose! :P
