Well, for anyone thinking my karma has changed ...
*facepalm* *facepalm* *facepalm*
Well, let me tell you ... Yesterday was indeed a typical swmbo travel day! I don't ever know where to begin! Although, worst of the worst - I MAY HAVE LOST MAGIC PHONE!! (although in a world where everybody's phone was magic perhaps I shouldn't call it that - but it is still magical to meeeee!). Anyway, my boss and I got to the airport on time, although it felt tooth-and-naily at times, and we were on the shuttle bus from the parking lot and I realized I couldn't find it. And my find phone app showed it was in the lot and I was like 'ok I am freaking out but it will be ok, right?' because hello, my flight is at any moment.
So we thought! Then we got the announcement that weather in Tampa was delaying our flight by 2 hours! Typical, I thought. Also, eeeeek, because we only had a 45 minute layover so holy cow, that may suck. BUT it was enough time to go back to the car. Except I did and tore it apart and I have nooooo idea. But the app still, even right now, says it is there. Please please please let me find it when I get back, because I will freak out if I have to find the money to replace it!
Ugh. So that was a bust and I head back to the airport proper to find out that they changed us to a different flight. We still have another 2 hours to go but yay, we will make it into San Francisco that night still! Then, just as we are lining up to board, there is an announcement ... The gateguy goes 'well, I just took over this gate and I don't really know what is going on, but apparently there is a hydraulic leak, so why don't you all sit down while we figure this out.'.
!!!!!!!!!
So another 20-30 minute of restrained panic go by and he gets back on the com and say. 'well, we can't find anything, so we're going to fire up the engine and let it run for a few minutes and see want happens'. This is not reassuring at all!!!!
But apparently nothing exploded so they loaded us up and eventually I made it, after enduring being trapped between two very chatty gentleman who asked lots of questions. But none of them were about what I was (trying) to read sooooo .... Half win half loss!
I got almost no sleep lat night so i am running on coffee and fumes and hope but I am still alive! And .... Maybe my return will be easier? Maybe? (Please please please let the phone be findable!)
