[The words are slanted, clearly not written at the same angle. Ben saw this being written and decided to share the journal, but hasn't taken it away from the droid.]

I'm surprised it's lasted this long, actually.

You put it to great use, hm? You'll have to tell us some of your techniques and tips.

I'm not sure I'd put it like that, but good lube is fairly essential to people like us.

Yeah, it's pretty essential. So what sort of things are you into? Sounds like there must be a lot of friction if you're going through it all this fast.

I don't need much. My skin covering tends to absorb the stuff we use now, which does at least cut down on dripping. I can get by with a few mililiters twice a week, if I have to.

It's my friends who really need it.

Skin covering? Is that what they call it these days. That's not supposed to absorb much of anything.

I'm sure there's a technical term, but I don't remember it. It's synthflesh, though. Technically alive.

I should probably fix it a nutrient bath and see if that helps. It's supposed to be self-contained, but I've seen that rubbing lotions into it helps the color and elasticity.

I have a prosthetic. Aside from needing maintenance, it works as well as the original.

[There's a nice ink spot here where Genius dropped his pen and started laughing hysterically. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS BEN.]

Dare I ask how you lost the original?

I don't remember. From the stump, it looks like it was severed cleanly, but that could have been after the injury itself.

[UNDERSTATEMENT GO!]

I have the feeling it was traumatic, though.

No kidding.

But that was a long time ago, and I've healed as well as I'm able. Even thinking of it doesn't really hurt now.

[There's just this ghost of betrayal and anguish to the hole where the memory should be. Faded now, but he feels it.]

Funny. Just thinking about the possibility hurts.
