Bea is a delicate flower

This was a 4-day trial in Eugene. The weather was pretty darn good, the footing was quite good (yes, really), and I had a lovely group of people over for a potluck in my yard on Saturday after the trial. It was much fun.

And Bea was great except when she wasn't. (Or I wasn't.)

Here's Bea being good, as in happy, fast, driving.

Here's Bea not being happy. I stopped because I thought something was wrong but what. Is she just tired? Hurt? Sick of the trial? Sick of me?

I took her for a massage and she had heat in her back and shoulders and muscle stiffness. After a lovely massaage she was clearly feeling better but I pulled from JWW to let her rest.

I have to come to the conclusion that Bea, for all her brash toughness, is actually a bit of a delicate flower and if she's tired or sore she just isn't going to do it. Especially those weaves. They're like the canary in the mine. This is a good thing because I can be pretty sure she won't hurt herself by pushing through. No, she'll be on the fainting couch resting. I've also come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to start working on building core strength with her and also learn some massage.

Ah well, at least it wasn't a rose bush this time.
