Thank NANCY, spring break is finally here! My whole first weekend was the Youth Festival, but it's ok because it was totally fun! We had to be at the culture center in denver at 7am sunday, and it was just the beginning of a long day. We went to Columbine and practiced a little and then got pretty and the festival started. It was in the gym, so we spent about an hour in the "green room" which was the boys locker room. At first we were with the band my brother was playing in and we all chanted for a while. Then they left to perform and the 17ish people in my group goofed around until it was our turn. It was so cool having everyone in the dance all together because there were hip-hoppers and Bollywood dancers from Ft Collins. I've met many great people and made some cool friends! When the festival finished, a woman came up to me but couldn't speak, she just kissed my hand. It was kinda bizzare and I didn't know what to say. I guess we really accomplished our goal and inspired everyone there!
You can't really see me dancing in this video, but sometimes my partner, Kunal, and I are in the lower right. Also, I love Kunal, he is the coolest dude and hottest Indian ever. Even hotter than Teju because he has an accent and he is buddhist :) I never thought there'd be an Indian man I wanted more than Teju lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnCR462s0E4 And after that horrendously long day, Dad came up with me to fix Jen's coffee table that broke way back when. Before we went home we went to the gas station to put gas in Cotter's car. We ended up sitting there for hover at hour talking and had a really deep conversation. I asked him to tell me why they got divorced, so at least I know his side of it now. And I guess I finally understand. But it was definitely his choice, not my mother's, and she feels like he was really mean about it, even though I don't exactly know what she means. And my dad told me that he loves me more than anyone else in the entire world, that the first time he held me he handed the reins to his heart over to me. I cried. It was good.
Last night Nevin, my handsome pilot/instructor friend, and I went out to dinner, finally. I've been wanting to go out with him for a couple months. We went to Yak and Yeti's for Indian food. The cute little Nepalese guy took us upstairs into this private room with a really coushy booth and a high tower-like ceiling that was painted blue with gold and jeweled stars. There were curtains all around, and we could've shut the one in the doorway, but that would've been too much. We shared our dishes, which were basically the same thing, but we ended up liking the other's better than our own, so we switched. I thought it was hilarious for our first date. Then we walked to the D Note and finally saw Cotter's band, Last Call Philosophers, play in the open mic. They are so good, I can't wait to hear more of their stuff. I hope it's ok with Nevin that it was a date. :)
