After a lot of driving (not me), Anne, Josh, Melissa and I finally got to see Belle & Sebastian from far away in a gigantic amphitheatre & pavilion. BASICALLY, I couldn't keep my hands off my face (The Scream-style, except less blood, tongues of fire and blue-black fjord) because they were great and it would be wonderful to see them up close and see if they are real. And feel an existential crisis rise out of my throat!

Broken Social Scene, all nine of them, also sounded really clear and great onstage, which was not expected but very much enjoyed. They were Canadian, almost surly, but still played all the best songs.

Ted Leo/Pharmacists pounded out his tunes in a half-hour flat and still said "'Anks" a bunch; in the two years I haven't seen them, though, gravity has worked its way into Dave Lerner's former 'fro, making the cocker spaniel look visible from even row EE. Still works, though, and I wonder if more people will adopt the style.

I am never much for concert reviews, but in the realm of the (involved) senses, I was reduced to grabbing cheek, saying "Shit bitch!", and taking pictures, but only of the pavilion's sound guy while he waved his tushie, because that was all that would come out.

My use of the word "tushie" was the main reason for cutting the rest of this concert description.
