ho hum late entries
(here is a post that I wrote the day after Christmas! I guess I will actually post it now o______o whenever it says "to-day" it means...like three days ago. I fail at posting?)
So to-day I was supposed to work but I successfully freaked myself out by how busy the poker room is (thank you iphone app that tells me how many tables there are) and all of the panicked breakdowns I was imagining if I had to go to work and be the person who calls out names for poker games (IT'S STRESSFUL) SO soooo I called out! So now I am home for the third day in a row, and I don't have to work to-morrow EITHER, and Christmas was EXCELLENT, so all is well!
My mom got home from work around 2:00am Christmas morning, so I had her open her presents from me, and she liiiiiiiked them! I got her a Nook and torrented some books for it, ha, and she has been reading it all the time, and it is so cute and makes me happy. Except now I want an e-reader of my own for all the fic. SOMEDAYYYYY. She was also impressed by my choice of slippers for her. So YAY.
Christmas day was also excellent! I opened my SUPER SNUGGLY presents from one Miss shiningartifact and her lady, and had the first part of an amazing ongoing Christmas surprise from my idktbh, and then I...basically dedicated the next many many hours to Yuletide! SO MUCH YULETIDE. (AND THEN LATER I GOT A MIX FROM madcap_shiny all about Avatar: the Last Airbender and I have so many feelings! and now I have JUST THE FINALE EPISODES left and I am not ready ;________; )
I also made some delicious cupcakes on Christmas Eve that are not even gone yet, which is a surprise. yum yum peppermint frosting.
This post isn't all that exciting really, but I just was actually HAPPY on Christmas which is super nice. I can't really remember the last good Christmas I have had? though I can't even really specifically remember any of my past Christmases o____o because I never do anything. But this year I was just insistent on GETTING A TREE and my mom and I getting stupid things for each other and being happy, so, IT WORKED AND I HAD A GOOD DAY.
To-night we have my two year old niece Avery over, because her twin brother Mason is siiiick and my brother needed to devote some time to taking care of him, and she is mega adorable as usual. She said my name! I've never heard her say my name before! I'm actually a REALLY crappy aunt, because I am reluctant to have to devote time and energy to taking care of tiny human beings, but I love these kids and she's been making me smile to-night so yay for that! it is also a million times easier to watch just one baby two year old than TWO.
Right now she is dancing around with a flashlight while we watch the Muppets Christmas Carol. PRETTY CUTE.
