Alright, so it has been a month exactly since I updated last... eep!

Since November 20th: Thanksgiving happened. We went to the shindig Chanele hosted with her parents at the rec room of their RV park. Fun times were had, and thomas' manager at the liquor store recommended an excellent wine to go with turkey. It was seriously yummy. Thanksgiving day, we had to pick up a few things at the store, and ended up buying one of those stand alone roasters [stand alone ovens], and got the free turkey. The roaster is like what Chanele's mom has, and I thought it was so neat. I had seen the special [buy the roaster get the turkey free] since a week prior, and we both thought it was a good idea... sooo.. we got it! Yay! Later that weekend, I made our turkey. It turned out fine, although, I do miss the crisp skin, but I think half an hour in an oven at the end could do that.

T-day being so early was odd... and made it feel like we had tons and tons more time left in the semester. So finals sort of snuck up on me in some classes. I think that the paper I wrote for the poetry course was probably my worst in grad school... the idea itself wasn't bad, I just didn't leave myself enough time to properly explore and reason it... I was sort of writing as I was doing some of the reading... So, for some of the poems it was more like shoving a soft, slightly oval shaped block into a round hole...

I did do well on the Edu exam, and the professor seemed to like my presentation in the Noun class overall...

At my second job, it was seriously like rotating help there for a while... The three of us who have been there for a while stayed, but Lisa hired at least two people who worked for a while, one of whom was even being trained to be a manager, who quite suddenly... both seemingly b/c they needed a 'real' job with benefits. Yes... but you need something while you look for said 'real' job... The way the second one handled it was poor... she emailed Lisa Sunday at 2pm that she wouldn't be coming in any more, and this woman was scheduled to open the next day. If Lisa had not by some fluke check her email at 9pm [which she doesn't normally do on weekends], then no one would have been there to open... really sort of threw a wrench into things. I volunteered for a few more shifts, or really, half shifts to make it a tad easier on her. I think partly as a result of that, I got a raise a bit ago, that she backdated to the start of the last pay period. When she told me about it, she said that she just really appreciated my hard work and flexibility. Yay! It still isn't loads of money, but it was significant raise, percentagely.

Christmas is tight, but thanks to the Macy's discount I think we've got most everyone taken care of... gotta love the employee discount + holiday sales + use your macy's card promotions... Now they are sitting there waiting to be mailed...

blah!
my mom about doubled the presents we have under our tree... she packed one box she mailed to the brim! It's not a huge box, just a lot of little or smallish things... Our little fake tree with lights and a few ornaments looks very festive now!
