Yo...

I really don't use LJ anymore, I haven't looked at it or posted in quite awhile.
But I thought just for giggles I'd toss up a crappy image collage that sums up our 2,000+ mile journey from Wisconsin to California in our big move. A new life begins...

It was a very easy drive relatively, nothing went wrong (though my car has some serious alignment issues now I need to get fixed before I drive anywhere), and it was pretty boring up until New Mexico. At one point in New Mexico, we got assaulted by an army of thousands of tumbleweeds crossing the highway; it was absolutely hilarious, especially when I'd watch them explode off of Fritzie's car in front of me. *tumbletumbletumble-SPLODE*

I do wish we could have taken our time a bit more, and enjoyed things like hotel pools (gawd I haven't been swimmming in eons..), buuuuut soon I'll have the ocean to enjoy for the first time in my life. :) San Diego really seems like it will be a nice place to live. I am hoping the sticker-shock of higher prices on some things will fade once I get some decent employment going again. ;)

Klaus, our German Shepherd, was wondrously well-behaved the whole trip, we didn't even need to give him any sedatives. He relaxed in the back seat most of the way, and the smart bugger did something REALLY adorable - whenever he wanted some water from me, which I kept a bottle handy most of the time, he'd very gently nuzzle my ear, or smack his lips next to me. He came up with that all on his own! =^.^= I had a wet lap for part of the trip (as I was literally hand-cupping water back to him), but I didn't mind. Then he'd just twirl around a couple times and flop back out again in the seat. Such a good boy!

Update: Now including Texas. =P I was in a hurry to finish the collage I guess. We did go to the famous Big Texan restaraunt, home of the 72oz steak (bigger than Prime Quarter!). If you can eat it in 1 hour, with a potato and a salad, you get it for free. I could do the 42oz at Prime Quarter, but I doubt I could manage 72oz! If it was -just- the steak, I think I could, but I'd have to be really...well, really inebriated. ;P And hungry.
