"and it rains in your bedroom, everything is wrong"

My thoughts on the episode. I watched it twice so that I could get a better understanding of it and to make sure what happened, actually indeed happened!

WARNING SPOILERS! WARNING SPOILERS! WARNING SPOILERS! WARNING SPOILERS!

This episode really did have me on the edge of my seat, well I was sitting on the floor, but it really kept me in suspense. The tasks that the Five had to do were very interesting. I loved the subtleties that were in the tasks for Druitt and Watson. Tesla's was just WHOA and Clara's was of a very clever design. I did love them.

However, and this is a big HOWEVER! I was bitterly disappointed with Magnus' task. It was just too simple. It didn't demonstrate any kind of power. At first I was about to just lay down and accept that Magnus' gift is purely that of longevity. But then I got to thinking. What if Gregory planned Helen's task so that it was the influencing factor? What I mean by that is, what if her task was the only way for the system to determine that there was actual need for the Source? What if it was the fail-safe? Gregory needed to be sure that it was Helen there; she would understand the subtlety of it, understand him and so with Helen present among the Five, there would undoubtedly be a pressing need for the vial and that no-one was attempting to deceive the system set in place. I know that that is not articulated in the greatest manner but I can't really explain it to myself.

I strongly believe that her gift has been manifested yet. I believe that her task was simply a test to determine whether there was a true need for the vial.

I loved how everyone was teasing Druitt about his past. I thought it was, "let's all gang up on Druitt because he's the murderer" but I loved how he confided in Watson that it wasn't him. I knew it! I like the vulnerable side to John. And yeh! John was immensely protective of Helen. Love that. That is just what I wanted.

Tesla. Is that man afraid of anything? He just continues to provoke anyone and everyone. Well, he was afraid of his task but, I would've been too. Oddly, I love Tesla. I love how unbelievably cocky he is yet he's very charismatic. And the nerdish looking attractive badguy.

Henry truly has come into his own. I loved his scenes in this episode. He's a very strong character both physically and mentally.

"Elementary my dear Watson!" About fucking time! I was waiting for a dig at that!

That ending! OMFG!!!!!!!!

I WANT SEASON 2 NOW!!!!!

I was seriously NOT expecting THAT. I mean, I was expecting along those lines but not necessarily THAT way!!! I had opened a notepad document on my laptop and started drabbling a wee fic idea but that ending was beyond anything I had imagined.
