Ok, this is for CJ. Sorry buddy. I don't know why I forgot to post about it.
Ok, so the Vagina Monologues were on February 14th at the Performing Arts Center at 7:00. This was my 2nd time being apart of these monologues.
We had a packed house and the cast was so lovely. I think we had about 27 girls. I can honestly say that all of the cast were kind, sincere, and passionate about the production. Now, last years cast was great, but this years, they were just beautiful people. The Vagina Monologues has such a strong message attached to the entire performance and each girl seemed to understand it's importance.
To me, the word "Amazing" does not describe the feeling I felt on that stage with the rest of the cast.
As far as my monologues, it was short, sweet, sassy, and I think I pulled it off well. Mine was called "Vagina Happy Fact(can be found online)." The audience seemed to get a kick out of the last line and laughed out loud. I also had this one line during the monologue about mensturation that was hilarious and the audience went crazy over it. I was happy to be there.
My mom, she and I fought about the fact that "her daughter" would be apart of a production called the "Vagina Monologues." I brushed it aside because I believe so strongly in it that no one can change my mind. It's a shame that my mother is so closed minded.
