Your first couple of days at NIU, get there really early. Find parking is hardest during the first week or two, and eventually you'll find a parking groove. The last couple of semesters there, I was late for many classes simply because I couldn't find a spot for my car. Perhaps the parking arrangement has improved, but I doubt it. Parking has always been tight. Be prepared to walk around a quarter to half mile if you can't get into the parking building. You could also park somewhere in town and hop the bus, but it's almost always faster to walk.
Well, getting there depends on my work schedule...I don't have many choices there. I'm hoping to be leaving work by 1pm each day and my first class isn't til 3 so I SHOULD be okay...but we'll see what happens. I know I have to allow for parking time and walking and everything...that's why I plan to drive out there today to get a better feel of the campus and figure out parking possibilities and such.
Do you have any idea how bad parking is around 3pm? Are there still a lot of people around?
Around 3pm parking should be a lot more manageable. If that's the earliest you ever go it, you shouldn't have too many problems. Usually about 10-1:30 is the worst time to find a spot. You will still see quite a lot of people on campus and in class at that time.

Oh great, now I'm paranoid again :P
Yeah, I'm really hoping that it's not so bad when I get there...luckily my first class is Spanish so I won't freak out about getting there on time...

I'm pretty sure that just having anxiety wouldn't require having my head checked...but there's all sorts of other stuff going on up there too...
I think the back to school jitters may at least fade now that I have a better idea of where I'm going...that was the big worry :P
Thank you for your support :D
