Summary: They were full of whys, I-just-need-more-sleep and curiosity.
The subtle shiver was what woke him. Dark eyes fluttered open and his bedroom came into focus. Dawn had smudged pale stripes through the space between the curtains and on the wall. Part of it illuminated the bed. The pale, perfect, bare skin of the body beside him seemed to glow. With the fascination of a child, he dusted his fingertips along it, tracing from the curve of a shoulder, past the ribcage to pause at the sharp angle of hipbone.
A soft gentle murmur reached his ears and he smiled. A synthetic, mint-green eye opened and regarded him. They were full of whys, I-just-need-more-sleep and curiosity.
“Why are you awake?” The faerie asked, lifting her cheek off the pillow and cupping it with a propped palm.
“You.” He responded, dragging his fingers back up the way they came to bury themselves in fire-colored locks. She blushed beautifully, prompting him to press his lips against her cheekbone.
“I’m sorry.” She murmured. Their legs became entangled as she wriggled towards him, letting him relish the feeling of her skin against his. Her breath ghosted across his chest as she rested her chin a few inches below his collarbone.
“Aoi?”
“Hmm?” The warm scent of vanilla and lilac tickled his nose.
“What am I to you?”
The simple question made his breath catch. After some thought, he chuckled.
“Everything.”
A/N: The 'faerie' mentioned is the vocalist of my fictional Visual Kei band, Harlequin. Her name's Megumi. I honestly didn't mean to use her. But I like how this drabble turned out.
