Hello Tuesday.

I'm just realizing that it's almost December and I have to start thinking about Christmas presents. My dad is always one of the hardest people to buy for, but this year my sister and I had a brilliant idea: we would get him an iPod! The man has an insane collection of CDs, and everytime my parents go away on vacation he takes about a hundred of them with him, so this seemed perfect. We emailed my mom to ask if she wanted to go in on it with us. And she would, except that he already bought himself one a month ago.

ARGH.

He does this all the time: if he wants something, he just goes out and buys it. Which is a very nice way to live, but not so useful for the people who are trying to buy him presents.

Other than that, things are good in Sweetle-land right now. I spent Sunday doing Christmas baking with my mom and my sister, so now I have about a gazillion cookies. And on Saturday I went to the Random House book sale, where we had to stand in line for an hour in the cold (everyone in line huddled over their Starbucks cups for warmth) but I came home with half a dozen books for a grand total of $7.50, woooo.

And I'm in the midst of trying to get soccer teams registered for next season, which so far has been slightly less of a pain than usual. Aside from the difficulty of finding a proper goalkeeper so we don't have to keep taking turns in net. (It was my turn this weekend, and I let in one goal but I also made a pretty spectacular save where I almost did the splits. Go me.)

In news of tinhattiness:

Steven has new boots.

Xabi also has new boots (although the pants = badness, baby, no).

I AM JUST SAYING, OKAY.

soccer, footie, christmas, books, family
