And the whole subtext to Cary's dialogue is wonderfully...suggestive. Yet, perfectly innocent. Well played. :)

WHOA. THE SECOND ONE. I think I see what you mean now. Implied UST has to be a thing because you just created it. It was delicious, in a creepy-wrong-gross kind of way.

And this: But the thing about staring at the sun for too long is that it blinds you, and with Alicia’s mocking lips a hair’s breadth from hers, she can barely see the sure disaster.

So much love. This is a seriously brilliant metaphor. (Is that a weird thing to focus on? I loved the rest of the fic too...)

HEE. Cary/Peter OTP, baby! They are the perfect slimy, scheming, not-even right couple.

And naw, not a weird thing to focus on at all, I'm glad it worked for you! I always try to at least have a metaphor for every story in the back of my mind, so I have a theme to tie back to. Sunburn just spoke to me!
