Kalicia Breakfast Club 5x20 -- Tangled Web

Hello Breakfast Club!

Especially welcome to the new folks who dropped by last week... wish I could have given a warmer welcome, but real life is harshing my fandom buzz.  Hope you stick around to grouse with us.

This episode was a slight improvement over last week's for me, mostly because there was more Kalinda (with her MAGICAL CRIME SCENE POWERS), and Diane was pretty awesome.  I liked Alicia being conflicted over wtf she's doing because she SHOULD be conflicted -- she is floating on the proverbial sea of life with no anchor.  Although it feels an impossibility that she'll realize Kalinda is the anchor she needs, it is obvious in my headcanon.

I continue to be irked by Finn's screentime and haven't seen much to suggest dimensionality there yet (he is a Good Guy who believes that Will is the hero!  He is conflicted that he had to put on a facade for politics' sake!).  I was mildly entertained by Alicia vs. the T.V., although that stuff edges on schticky-ness.  I mostly enjoyed the scenes with Veronica, who is apparently the ass-gettingest mama in the midwest.  Also, I don't know if it says more about my cynicism or Cary's character that I was certain to the very end that he had an ulterior motive for keeping Alicia out of the office because why would anybody who's not Finn do anything nice for anybody.

Other thoughts, please!

squee, breakfast club 5, i think too much about teevee, the good wife
