I can't even explain the awesomeness of this night. Although it was not awesome for most it was memorable to us 4 girls.
So get this:
It's 11pm and Laura and I just got out of the shower and did our hair with our cool new hair products (we wanted to see if they would do the trick) and they did. Excited we wanted somewhere to go, something to do to show off our snazzy hair. 2 friends of our suggest getting cookie dough and milk and just hanging out and eating it. What a great idea! So we buy 2 sticks of cookie dough (1 sugar, the other chocolate chip) and we divey up our share. While we are eating it one girl, Corrie, says she now wants bake cookies. I agree. Then the microwave seemed to say "use me, I cook all sorts of good things, see what I can do to some cookie dough". I say "we should try to cook some in the microwave to see what happens. Needless to say there was one opposed to this suggestion but eventually we all agreed that it would be cool to see what happens. Mallory was a main encourager. So I take a paper, microwavable bowl and put a little piece of sugar cookie dough inside and put it in the microwave. I, the smart one, say I'm going to put it on baked potato setting because hey we want to bake a cookie. Great idea, I know. So I press the start button and away it goes. About 5 seconds into baking it looks like it might actually work because it spreads out jus tlike it does in the oven and then about 10 seconds after that all I see in the microwave is smoke so I quickly turn it off by pressing the button that opens up the microwave and out comes a cloud of white smoke. I quickly shut it while everyone says to leave it open so all the smoke is able to come out. In the process we are opening up the window and turning on the fan while Laura is fanning the door open and close, open and close. Laura says "the fire alarm is going to go off we need to get this smoke out of here" and then she mentions what if the sprinklers go off. I'm in a panic have no idea what to do but in the process laughing my ass of. Then the sound takes over the whole dorm. The fire alarm goes off. My jaw drops, the other girls jaws drop, Laura runs downstairs to tell them what happened and that it was all our fault. I'm worried about getting in trouble but I can't seem to stop laughing. I walk downstairs and hide with Corrie while 350 kids file out of the dorm in pj's and bathrobes, some upset others wondering if this is a drill. I'm embarrassed, I smell like smoke and then a cop car shows up and the song bad boys, bad boys whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for you absorbs my every thought. I was sure they would ask who caused this and we would have to stand in front of everyone and show our face so that we could be the hated people in our hall. So, after the cop comes 1 firetruck comes and then comes another. Shit, this seems serious. Didn't they get the memo that it was just a burnt cookie. They all eventually leave and everyone can go back into the dorm. My room reeks right now. I'm not sure if people will find out it was us or what exactly will happen when they do. Hopefully they'll forget about it, I know I won't though. So moral to this story: Don't try to cook cookies in the microwave, even a small amount, it will burn and smoke will engross your room.
Another smart moment. Another great memory. Oh college is awesome.
