A half cannot truly hate that which makes it whole. Or: Merlin/Arthur Recs to Soothe the Sappy Soul
As a follow-up to my picspam post last week, I thought I'd offer a few links for people who are interested in the crazy cracky slashdom of Merlin. So, here is a very basic list of Merlin/Arthur recs that I've been collecting for the past couple of weeks! This is by no means intended to be comprehensive... if there's an awesome fic or vid you've seen that isn't listed here, please do mention it in comments. Also, my apologies for the lame-assed blurbs. I is tired.
Merlin/Arthur FIC:
And Still by imperfectcircle. Arthur and Merlin go on a quest. Along the way, there is bonus kissing and some great characterization. I am rather fond of this one.
Controllable Things by ariafic. A short little "Arthur finds out" fic. Nice use of second person.
Fire Signs by moonythestrals. Merlin begins having some unusual dreams. Funny, and weirdly hot.
MERLIN by moonythestrals again. The first -- but, I suspect, not the last -- Merlin/Arthur fratboy!AU. Kind of amazingly amazing... the anachronistic nature of the show makes the 'translation' to a present-day story practically seamless.
Next Time, I Will Remember This And I Will Say "No" by paperclipbitch. Arthur involves Merlin in a scheme. This leads to misadventures, mistaken identities, and eventually, hot sex.
Three Castles (part one, part two) by rageprufrock. Harlequin AU! Arranged marriage -- with a twist! My love for this story is limitless.
Various stories by thisissirius, a writer who is prolific and usually pretty spot-on. She writes a lot of shorter pieces, and I am so brain-dead that I don't currently have any specific recs, but her fic is worth a look.
Merlin/Arthur VIDS:
10,000 Nights by mamoru22. Great intro vid! Cute, bouncy, and full of rampant subtext. The song -- and the vid -- will be stuck in your head for weeks.
The Bitch Prince by wistful_fever. Just posted! You see, Prince Arthur is a bitch. He's a lover. He's a child, he's a mother. Who knew? wistful_fever knew. This vid is a lot of fun, veering between insightful and unapologetic crack with style.
