Should I be Surprised? Not Really...

Work was especially unorganized today for a special reason: my site manager was out with the flu.  Ha, can u believe it?  As soon as I found out when I arrived at work, I was silently laughing to myself, thinking about the person or persons who would have to take over the reins of this "overly-organized" program...rrrrrrright.  The ladies that did take over were very nice, but seemed just as baffled as we were about the chaos.  I told them that I was basically a floater at the mercy of my site manager, but the other teachers and tutors helped them out to get a sense of how the program went.  Since my site manager was out today, I did what I should have rightly been given: I reassigned myself to the fifth grade students she initially signed me up to.  I was like, well, technically, she did give them to me, so why not just be with them today and for the rest of the week.  SO, they were very happy to reunite with me, as was Ms. Shavers (the teacher who I bonded with my first week there and whom loves me like a daughter).  So, my kids and I shared Ms. Shavers' room with her kids, and we had  a ball.

For a large portion of the evening, the kids completed a mandatory math assessment exam, so Ms. Shavers and I had lots of time to talk.  She is so funny.  We talk about the most interesting things.  We have decided that I am going to own my own publishing company, and that she's going to work for me and use my publishing company as an avenue to get her own stuff published.  Also, and get this, her daughter, China Shavers, starred in Sabrina the Teenage Witch, with Melissa Joan Hart (Hart's mom was the boss of the show, and so, in essence, Melissa Joan Hart was also the boss).  China said that Joan Hart always booked plane tickets for vacations all over the world for herself, China and other friends.  They all went to tons of parties, and China said there was ecstasy everywhere.  One particular time, Joan Hart invited China to a get together somewhere, and China gave Hart the impression that she was going to attend.  Well, China actually was tired of feeling obliged to go to Hart's parties and all, but didnt know how to tell her because she felt like she couldnt say no to her "boss."  So anyway, the night of the get together, China decided not to go.  Hart kept calling China to see what was up and to ask why she wasnt there at the party.  Finally, she gave up calling China, and soon after that, Hart started to blow off China because she was a no show and didnt have the heart to tell her why she didnt attend the party.  Soon after that, China was written off the show, and replaced.  Hmmm....makes u think, huh?
