today, i quit my job.

yes, you read the subject line correctly. christina meleo is no longer a gap-a-teer. They give me a raise to $7.50 but then only give me 10-15 hours a week with like 5 of those hours being from 5am on? yeah no, not exactly feeling that. so i applied at the children's place on saturday and today i went back to the outlets to hand in more applications and decided to check the status of the children's place. The manager went to go check my application and came back out and took me into the back room for an interview and pretty much hired me on the spot. so i planned on keeping my gap job just to keep the discount and maybe for some extra spending money, but they told me i couldn't work both jobs because of a "conflict of interest" since they were both retail stores. so i told them i was going with the children's place since i'd be making almost as much money ($7.25) and was already guarunteed a minimum of 24 hours a week. they said they understood and weren't mad at me and would even keep me in the system as unavailable for a couple of weeks so i could see if i liked the new job and i could come back if i didn't. the only bad thing is that the children's place requires me to wear all black. i own like 2 pairs of black pants and maybe 4 black shirts. one of which is long sleeves and not gonna work for a summer job and one that's a belly shirt and not work-appropriate. so i need to buy some black shirts and possibly some black capri pants. i also can't wear flip-flops to work anymore :( and i need to wear black shoes so i think a black pair of sneakers may be in my future.

i still can't believe my days at the gap are numbered....how will i learn to buy full price clothes again?! (oh, btw if anyone needs 30% off of children's clothes, i'm your girl.).

Tomorrow i go in for training at 1:30 and i might get to stay until 10, but that's only if i'm needed.

Hm, so i guess that's all for now...hopefully i meet nice people tomorrow...too bad i didn't get to work with hot chris one last time...
