Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3
Yunho looked at the frail figure who ran to his clothes and his other stuff and started gathering his items quickly. Before he was able to realize what was going on, Jaejoong had already left the room. Yunho blinked in surprise, frozen to the floor by the turn of events. It was dead silent in the practice room, nobody dared to even breathe. Finally, the silence was broken by Ryans who turned around to face the other members and dancers. "That's what happens when you're not good enough in this industry. Don't think you can slack off once you've reached the top. I hope this sets an example for you guys because this isn't a game. If you don't work hard, don't even bother coming here."
Yunho glared at the choreographer. He felt his vision becoming blurry because of his own anger and rage and it was hard to suppress the need to hit the man. He realized Ryans knew what he was talking about but that didn't make it any better. Ryans obviously had never heard Jaejoong singing his heart out or seen him dancing like a beast once he had mastered a dance. Yes, dancing was one of Jaejoong's weaknesses but he could overcome it. He only needed time. And Ryans refused to give time to this person because he was such an impatient ass.
"Please, turn the music on again. We'll do the choreography from the beginning, okay?" Ryans voice echoed through the room.
Yunho wanted to protest. He didn't want to dance the choreography this ass had created, his pride wouldn't let him. The people around him gathered and started dancing again on the music. Yunho looked at the other members. All three of them looked lost, they didn't know what to do. Then he made his own decision... His legs started moving but not on the music; they were moving away from this room.
"Where are you going? We're not done yet." Ryans said, looking at the leaving figure.
"I don't care. You should show some respect towards other people. How hard is that?" Yunho said, trying to control his anger.
"You don't have my permission to leave. Do you hear me? Jaejoong needs time to think over his attitude in order to achieve his own dreams."
Something in his body snapped. He turned around, facing his choreographer. Yunho's eyes were filled with anger, disgust and incomprehension."Attitude? Who's the one with the attitude? Jaejoong doesn't need time, he needs understanding words in order to feel motivated. I've known him for years so don't act as if you know him better than I do. I don't need your permission and your so-called wise words, so fuck off." With these words, Yunho slammed the door shut and left the room filled with speechless people.
Where could Jaejoong have gone to? Immediately, the image of the rooftop filled Yunho's mind. It was the place where they had spent hours together when they were trainees. Dancing, singing, laughing but also crying.
Yunho started running, he couldn't bear with the thought of Jaejoong hurting because of the words of that cocky man. He ran upstairs, taking huge strides with his tall legs and skipping three steps at the same time. The hurt eyes of Jaejoong when he heard the words of Ryans filled his mind. Faster, faster, I have to see if Jaejoong is alright. The thought pounded in his head. Faster, faster.
Finally, he had reached the final staircase. He sprinted upstairs, using his last energy to reach the door. Out of breath, he opened the door and searched for Jaejoong after he had stepped on the rooftop. Where was that guy? His eyes scanned the empty space, looking for anything that revealed life but the only thing that lived were the birds in the sky. Disappointed and breathless, Yunho realized Jaejoong wasn't here. But... where could he be?
He grabbed his cell phone, quickly pushing buttons to unlock the thing. But... all his phone was giving him was a black screen. "No, please don't tell me this is happening!" Yunho said, pushing the buttons even harder. No response. Great, his cell phone always had to give up when he needed it the most.
As fast as he had come upstairs, he now went downstairs. He was almost flying off the stairs and it was quite hard to maintain his balance when he had to take the turns but he didn't care. The worry inside Yunho started to grow, growing to huge proportions. What could Jaejoong possibly be thinking right now?
He almost bumped into a person. "I'm sorry." Yunho panted, continuing to run downstairs. However, when he realized who that person was, he promptly stopped. "Yoochun-ah, please let me borrow your cell phone."
"Why?" Yoochun said, handing over his cell phone to his hyung. "You know you've created so much chaos in the dance practice, right? Ryans was so furious, you should be glad you weren't able to see it. It was kind of creepy even though your words were so true."
"I couldn't care less about that ass right now." Yunho said, accepting the cell phone. He went to Yoochun's contacts and skipped the names until he saw the name he was looking for - Jaejoong. Just as he was about to dial the number, something Yoochun said caught his attention. "...What, can you repeat that again?"
"I saw Jaejoong leaving a few minutes ago. He was with Jae Sun so I don't think you have to worry about it. I think he needs time to think things over and I think Jae Sun will be able to give him an unbiased opinion. You know how Jaejoong is... give him time to adapt and eventually he will excel."
It was as if a huge burden just fell off Yunho's shoulders. Jaejoong was with Jae Sun. He wasn't going to do anything weird. "You're right. But... how come he was with Jae Sun? I'm quite sure I left the room earlier than Jae Sun and there's no way in hell he would bump into Jaejoong earlier than me." he said, frowning.
"You didn't notice?" Yoochun frowned but after he realized that Yunho really didn't see anything, he continued, "He followed Jaejoong right after he stormed out. I think he didn't want to cause any drama unlike someone here." He joked.
"Well, the choreographer should have been more professional and understanding. It isn't as we are robots who don't have emotions." Yunho frowned. He dialed Jaejoong's number after all and put the phone to his ear. "Err... I think something's wrong with your phone, Yoochun."
"What?" Yoochun looked at his phone. "Oh, this has happened more often. You know how the phone connection sucks in SM. Maybe you should go outside and try again..."
"No, no... I'm relieved Jaejoong is with Jae Sun. At least we know now he won't do anything stupid. I will text him when I get home, thanks for lending me your phone, though."
-
When Yunho finally got home, he plugged his phone into the recharger. After waiting for a few seconds, he turned his phone on and texted Jaejoong. Hey, where are you right now? Don't worry too much about today, have some fun with Jae Sun. You deserve to relax.
He didn't want to admit it but he hated it when people didn't text him back. Yunho stared at his phone and stared and stared but there was no response. What the hell? Normally, Jaejoong would stalk his members to death with texts filled with useless emoticons. When had he stopped this habit? Annoyed, Yunho stared at his phone, trying to make Jaejoong response to his text message. Unfortunately, the screen remained black.

"What... the hell?" Slowly, Jaejoong regained consciousness. He tried to move his head but as soon as he did, a piercing pain shot through his head. It was as if someone had grabbed his head and had started hammering on it. He opened his eyes and even though his body protested, he lifted his head up and looked at his surroundings. Where the hell was he? He didn't seem to recognize anything at all. He was lying on a couch and damn, he had slept in the worse position ever. Jaejoong didn't think too long about it, though, as the pain in his head only seemed to get worse. He felt a wave of nausea run through his body and he didn't know how fast he had to get off the couch to run to... where? Where the hell was the toilet? He didn't know, he didn't know, all he knew was that he needed something to throw up into. Clutching his mouth, Jaejoong looked around the messy room and tried to find something. Whose room was this anyway?! Panic shot through him as he felt the mixture of pain and nausea becoming stronger and he couldn't control it any longer. The dust bin placed on the table caught his attention and Jaejoong didn't know how fast he had to grab the thing. Just in time. His stomach turned upside down and emptied itself in the bin.
He couldn't help but feel sorry for the owner of the dust bin. Jaejoong felt slightly better and this gave him the opportunity to look around while questions filled his head. Whose house was this? How the hell did he end up here? What had happened? He tried to remember but his memory was blank.
"Ahh, I see you're finally awake!" Jaejoong turned around quickly to see the source of the voice. The movement sent a pang through his head but he ignored it, facing a sleepy looking Jae Sun.
"Oh, so this is your house? I started to get paranoid, thinking I got kidnapped by some crazy dudes." Jaejoong laughed, his nervousness disappearing. Immediately, he felt more at home. "But dude, you seriously need to clean up more often. I didn't know your place was such a mess!"
"Well, you actually contributed to that mess, I see... and smell." Jae Sun frowned, nodding to the dust bin.
Jaejoong blushed. "Yeah, err, sorry about that. I didn't know where the toilet was... How have I actually gotten here? I can't remember a thing..."
"Really? Nothing?" Jae Sun looked amused. He got his phone out of his sweatpants and moved closer to Jaejoong. "You don't remember... this girl? Or this one? Or even this one? No? This one then? And this one? You had some amazing catches last night, my friend, even I was amazed. Undoubtedly, you kissed the hottest girls in the room yesterday. I didn't know there was this side of you." Jae Sun laughed after he had flipped through several pictures on his phone. Jaejoong felt confused. What had Jae Sun just showed him? The photos were slightly blurry but it was still obvious who the guy was on the pictures - it was him. On every picture he was kissing another girl. What the fuck?
Jaejoong was frozen to the floor. He didn't remember a single thing. He tried to remember the last thing before his memory failed on him... The awful dance practice, the rooftop and then... what? Before he managed to remember more, another wave of nausea rushed through him and he found himself bent over the dust bin again.
"Ah, dude, can you please do that somewhere else? I think the one who's going to empty the dust bin isn't going to like this. Oh yeah, for the record - that person will be me. Just... go to the bathroom - throw up there, take a shower, do whatever you want - while I make some breakfast, okay?" Jae Sun said, pushing Jaejoong to the bathroom while pinching his own nose.
After he had taken a shower, Jaejoong walked into the kitchen where Jae Sun had prepared a breakfast for both of them. Even though the splitting headache was still there and he still felt nauseous, he knew it would be smart to eat at least something. This wasn't the first time he had dealt with a hangover. "Looks good." He said, placing himself on a chair. Jae Sun only gave a faint smile and for a while, nothing but the sound of their cutlery hitting their plates could be heard. It was a long but comfortable silence.
"You really don't remember anything at all? About yesterday, I mean?" Jae Sun broke the silence, looking up from his plate to face Jaejoong.
"Well... no... the last thing I remember was that we talked on the rooftop. I have tried several times to remember but... it's just a... black hole. There's only this weird feeling as if I was on top of the world... As if I was soaring... I just remember this feeling that I had to keep dancing and that I didn't want the music to ever stop. I've never felt like that before." Jaejoong frowned, trying to wrap his head around what had happened yesterday. "This isn't like me. I don't kiss this many strangers on one night!" He exclaimed, being extremely frustrated.
Jaejoong felt Jae Sun's eyes on him, studying the frustrated expression on his face. Jae Sun looked as if he was lost deep in thoughts, his brown eyes staring at something that wasn't present in the kitchen. After a short silence, he opened his mouth. "I actually think it's better for you not to know but... well, maybe you should know." He looked very serious, his piercing gaze fixed on his friend's face. Jaejoong gave a small nod, encouraging Jae Sun to go on. "I thought it'd be fun... You looked so stressed and you know, sometimes you just have to relax. Well, didn't you have a good time yesterday -" Jaejoong wanted to open his mouth to protest. He didn't even remember a single thing of what happened yesterday! But a voice inside of his head told him not to interrupt and to listen to what Jae Sun had to tell. "- it's too bad you can't remember anything because, damn, you were such a dancing machine! Ryans wouldn't even dare to criticize you if he had seen you yesterday! I might have helped a bit, though." Jae Sun smiled, slightly embarrassed.
What did he mean? A frown appeared on Jaejoong's face. I thought it'd be fun... I might have helped a bit... The words of Jae Sun echoed through his head. "What do you mean? What happened?" His body tensed as he waited for his questions to be answered.
"Well... This friend of mine who was at the bar yesterday... he had this awesome thing with him and it had been such a long time since I had used it for the last time. You felt like crap and I just knew... this was exactly what you would need. I have used it occasionally when I lived in the US, it is nothing bad there."
"Your friend had this 'awesome thing' with him? It is nothing bad in the US? What are you trying to say, Jae Sun? I can't remember accepting anything from you yesterday!" Well, duh, that was because Jaejoong wasn't able to remember a single thing but that didn't matter.
"Well, yeah, errr, I might have put some xtc in your drink..." Jae Sun confessed, his eyes focused on his plate, too embarrassed to look his friend in the eye.
Jaejoong froze. How could this be happening? He had just used drugs, for the first time in his life. He knew it was illegal in South Korea. He knew he told himself to never use drugs. He knew he apparently just had. And what frightened him the most was that he knew he had never felt better than yesterday night.
