Ok, ok, happy 2006 everyone. No, I'm not grumpy, I do really appreciate the turning of a new leaf for a new year, but I just don't put as much importance with it as I think a lot of people do. I had a good new year's though...started it off right - that's right, I went to church. P.S. (I think I'm going to start using that phrase again), It's a shame that I have to go back to Muncie when I think our parish finally got it's permanent priest and I really like him. Not that I don't like FJ, but I'm really happy for my parish because it's been priestless or bad-priested for quite some time now...like 3 years. This guy, Fr. Mike, had me cracking up in the pew and then he proceeded to hit every nail on the head with what he said. Church just seems all that more meaningful when you feel the priest is talking directly to you. It was like we were having a conversation and everyone else just happened to be there to listen in and learn something. Props to him. (Another good phrase I might resurrect...hah, resurrect, church, ah, I kill myself).
And I just wanted to say that I had a really good day today...doing nothing meaningful but hanging out with people. Yes, I basically slept in til 11, watched t.v., showered, did some phi mu stuff (:p) hung out with Courtney, came home, watched more t.v., went out with Heather to Qdoba, saw Brokeback Mountain (which is very good, and a great conversation starter btw) and then proceeded to Kopps (b/c DQ closes at 9). I love that we can talk for hours about nothing and everything at the same time. I love that in the same conversation we can talk about sex, death, pot, and burritos. We can be just as content reminiscing about what happened 5 years ago as we are talking about where we hope we are 5 years from now. The topic of boys never gets old. So thanks Heather, and Happy New Year.
P.S. Jackie, I am not winning the contest. Are you?
